The Say Thank You at Christmas campaign has been gaining national publicity with coverage on BBC News and various national newspapers.
The organiser of the campaign, Mike Kershaw of The Concerto Group, said: "We set out to get people talking about the importance of Christmas parties and that has been achieved."
There is concern amongst event organisers that the Christmas Party season will be overshadowed by this year's financial crisis and cut backs in corporate Britain. However, some organisers are reporting record business as companies take action to motivate employees.
Comment - Christmas Parties
Perhaps Christmas is increasingly becoming less relevant in our multi cultural society and, instead of reactively choosing an annual religious festival, event organisers are saying thank you to their employees when it should be done.
It is generally understood that suppliers and venues load their prices during the Christmas season and, in some cases, make clients put up with a diminished service because 'it's Christmas'.
Sometimes events cause people to stop and assess, and it may be that one of the many practices tested by the financial crisis will be the company Christmas party. |
