A survey carried out by the organisers of The Event Show has suggested that themed events are the most popular form of corporate entertainment in the UK. The Event Show is held at Olympia and this year's show ran from the 27th until the 29th January. The survey asked a random sample of 1,500 visitors what sort of corporate events appealed the most. Themed events came first, followed by 4x4 driving and helicopter rides. Bottom of the poll came assault courses and karaoke. Michelle Tayton, event manager of the Event Show, said "The Event Show showcases all of the options for anyone responsible for planning an event. Visitors come to the exhibition in order to find new ideas and suppliers that will assist them in making their event a success." Find out more at www.eventshow.co.uk
corporateentertainment.net comments:- The results of the survey seem fairly predicatable. Most people don't welcome the idea of completing an assault course, although the feeling of accomplishment you can get from a well run event like this can make it a very powerful experience. As for karaoke, what self respecting event organiser still includes it in a programme? It seems that the list of experiences people could choose from was a little uncreative, which is a pity as 1,500 is a good sample and we could have learned something. |
