A Hertfordshire based charity is going to attempt to get into the Guinness Book of Records by staging the longest ever game of Human Table Football. The Hertfordshire Cheshire Home is part of the UK based Leonard Cheshire charity which provides care and support to 21,000 disabled people. Their objective is to raise £25,000 during 2004 to go towards purchasing a new vehicle. They are organising up to 450 participants to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest game of Human Table Football on Saturday 22nd May 2004 at Hitchin Rugby Club. The present record was established in August 2001 in Portugal; 360 people took part in a 12 hour game. The charity is seeking volunteers who will each have a sponsorship target of between £10 and £50 depending on their age. For further information email the organiser: or telephone 01462 452460.
